The Greater Newburyport CSA is a multi-farm CSA. We have created an alliance with accomplished growers who are either certified organic or growing organically. By supporting us, you're helping to sustain multiple small farm growers in their quest to provide quality produce to people in the Greater Newburyport area. Together, we'll provide you with a colorful array of vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers that are fresh-picked and grown without contaminants. |

A Special Thanks to Our Members Our heartfelt thanks goes out to each and every individual and family who participated in our Summer CSA and Winter Share programs last year. Your support and your dedication to organic growing made our 2009 season a successful one! 2009 Highlights Land to Grow On! Last year's exciting acquisition of the 7 acre field at 77 Bridge St. in West Newbury has increased our capacity to grow in 2010. The property's unique possibilities and exceptional location inspired us to apply for funding from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, aka the NRCS. |
Organic Support We were awarded two critical contracts from the NRCS in 2009. The EQUIP organic production contract supports organic growing practices in a number of ways, and the AMA grant will make it possible for a deep well and irrigation system to be installed on the West Newbury property. 2010 Preview Food Worth Eating This year, we'll begin measuring the Brix levels in the produce we provide for our members. Our goal is to achieve a high standard of nutrient density for each vegetable we grow, which of course translates to great taste, higher nutritional content, and longer shelf life. |
